I confess:
My long absence from Aspies Central is partly, perhaps majorly, due to the developments of the American elections. I am alone amongst people whom I know except for a couple of friends who support the Republican Party, so I definitely feel miserable.
I am sympathetic towards Green Party causes, but assuming I live and vote in a two-party system like the United States, I am more than willing to vote for a party candidate I dislike, to make a loud and clear political statement through my vote - the current liberal candidates just don't make my mark, the conservative right-wingers can effect more changes than these people.
Richard Nixon had EPA, Eisenhower had Interstate Highways, I believe the Republican presidents will have new solutions for our future.
I think no matter who got elected as the United States President, taxes will have to go up, spending will have to go down - including Big Bird and autism funding. I'm just glad defence spending against both China and the oil producers against Israel doesn't go down.
Explains why I like Mitt Romney - he says the truth and will bring necessary, but painful changes, had he been elected - and most likely, he could have serve a full 8 year.
I had always been skeptical of Obama's records, and it will remain this way unless Obama decides to appoint new liberal federal judges his way. Aren't Justices are supposed to be neutral and fair, or something?
The president can't be all-powerful like God, but he can certainly label China as 'currency manipulator' and is the commander-in-chief of America. And changes in one single country can affect us - especially if that country is the largest developed economy in the world.
If my views could offend anyone here, allow me to apologise to you.
