I feel that where awareness fails, not saying about our conditions will gain us a higher probability of acceptance, assuming our achievements come first before. And don't we need acceptance for the good we do?
Eventually, our aim is to create enough societal acceptance for us to live - and thrive. Until we do so, we should unconditionally accept every pses as what we all are, while waiting, in hope, for us to live without fear.
Even autie parents I know outside my autism support group don't really want to reveal their children's names and subsequently their conditions.
