Anyone Mess With Bitcoin?

I know someone who works for a company that makes them. He once took me out to dinner at a restaurant that accepted this form of payment. He said he gets paid in bitcoin, and when he needs regular money, he sells some bitcoin.

I've thought about it, but I haven't gotten into it. I have an account somewhere should I ever get paid in BitCoin, but I'm not sure if I trust the "cash out" method enough to start taking it as payment yet.

I think it seems a bit sketchy, from what little I know about it. It'd be great to have an international currency (very important in today's world!), but from what I understand, there's been a good deal of inflation in the past few years as more and more people are using it. I am interested to see what happens with it over the next couple of years, as it is a great concept, but I want to see how it winds up working out in practice.

I've just read something about it on Wikipedia. However I still feel a bit lost. I understand that it is virtual cash, that actually has a real value. According to Wikipedia, you get these Bitcoins by mining. Can someone tell me, how it works mining? I'm quite curious about it.

Watch the documentary in my previous comment with the link provided. I felt they explained things well after watching.

Thought it was easier to ask, to get this quick answered without watching this documentary for 1.5 hours - lol. Okay, I'll watch it later then.

Well from the above link I provided of previous comment, the documentary explains what business around the world using it. I tell you Dell Computers is accepting it a payment yet they are a multi billion dollar company. Anyhow I can't explain well in words but the documentary does. It worth the watch.

Tried, but it does not work, it gets stuck on loading the bit coin generator on firefox AND chrome, I will never use Explorer for obvious security reasons, as it is the worst most hacked browser ever made. My java is installed, enabled, set up, but it just does not load the bit coin generator at all.

I've been investing in Litecoin for a few weeks now. :)
