HELP! I can’t find something I need by tomorrow morning

First of all, I’m not asking help to find the actual location. I’m asking for help in the cosmic sense. Please concentrate on these two little things making themselves visible again.

I had them in my hands yesterday. I decided not to leave them in the car. (Why? Who knows. It would have been a smaller space to search.) I stepped onto the little outdoor back porch and thought of setting them down there. Nah. It might rain. (These are made of plastic.) Brought them to the inside part of the back porch and (I think) put them some place obvious where I could not miss them.

I can lose an object that I’m holding in my hand. I can lose an object sitting on my head. I can set an item down and 15 seconds later not be able to find it.

What these little things are are the end-caps to Yakima bars that hold the canoe on the car while driving. I am supposed to leave tomorrow with my former foster child on a little vacation that includes some canoeing.

So whatever kind of spirit help you may have access to, please help.

You've already tried walking through the same path
you took yesterday, I guess (?)

Plus checking the clothing you wore that day.
(I don't know what size the end-caps are.)

I'll wish on stars for you to find it.

I'm with you, thinking about your end-caps. Wishing that a rested brain will help you.

In these situations I've usually left tiny important things underneath a large pile of something unimportant... got distracted mid task type of thing.

Best of luck, I hope you find it. When that happens to me, I tell myself that it's on the property/in the house somewhere, it has to be. Then I search thoroughly and systematically room by room.

Did you find those things? I found online shops which are selling them, but you probably know that already, plus they don't deliver in one day...

Thank you all for your help. I really appreciate it.

Unfortunately, I was not able to find them. I was able to cobble together suitable replacement using duct tape.

I have heard rumors that two end caps were seen running off with two mismatched socks headed in the direction of the new mini moon. ;)

I think that my Yakima pole end caps that go missing are probably with the odd socks that get lost in the wash.

I usually find that buying replacements is a good way to find the originals.

Yes that trick seems to work well. A while ago I lost some safety glasses. So I bought new ones. And three hours after I bought new ones, the old ones appeared on my drill press. Had I not bought new ones, I would never have found the old ones. 🙂
