I would have thought Australia would have straight roads longer than 90 miles. I think Florida has roads that run straight for more than 90 miles…or maybe it just seems that way.
Many of our roads seem fairly straight, and a modern practice is to deliberately put curves in roads to prevent driver fatigue, but that one stretch is arrow straight.

I liked my brother's comment about driving from Adelaide to Darwin, 3200 Km. "They're wrong. It's not all the same. Sometimes you see a clump of saltbush.".

My brother had to drive from Darwin to Melbourne once, with his 4 year old daughter along for the ride. You can't drive too far with small children, it's too much for them, so the first day he only drove to Tennant Creek, 800 Km.

On the first day the little girl was like any other kid, "Are we there yet?". "Are we there yet?". On the second day she was extremely quiet and looked worried, my brother asked her what was wrong and she asked "Are you lost Dad?".

Danish artist Thomas Dambo constructed the Giants of Mandurah. They're made from scrap and rubbish, mostly old pallets from a brewery.

Vandals (probably kids) just burnt one of them down. The locals are ropeable. If they find out who did it the law won't matter, that family will have to leave the region and never return.
