What is your comfort food?

Pad Thai noodles from the joint a couple blocks away from my house, with chicken. That is great comfort food right there.

My mom always made burnt toast, so burnt toast represents love not carcinogenic toast my mom can't toast bread, lol

Similar, but not the same. Working at a hospital, every single day before getting started working I had to have a Snickers - every single day of work. Since I left that job - haven't had a Snickers since and no desire for one. Guess they just got me through the night, I dunna.

Teriyaki chicken if I'm ordering food, otherwise a choux pastry with fresh cream and Belgian chocolate. Nom.

Peanut/almond/cashew butter
Tahini halva
Avocado smoothies
Pecan pie
Lemon cheesecake
Peri peri chicken
Pizza

It's a special chocolate cake, it's available in only one place, I think you have to rob the baker to get the recipe, no one else has it. And they have been making cakes since 1890. So they know what they are doing. I don't know if they put opioids in it it or what the secret is 🤔 but when you have tasted it, you must have another bite. It's chocolate and berries, delicious. So once in a while I treat myself to that, usually after a long work-filled day. It's a mood enhancer.

Also, during winter the comfort food is crispbread with goat cheese and a cup of cocoa. Very good.

A cup of cold toddy (toddy in this case being the name of Choco sugary powder) with Nutella (but let's be real Nutella is f* expensive so I'll probs just go with pork pate or blackberry jam)

Or. OR. A big serving of full milk vanilla or coconut yogurt with spoonfuls of dulce de leche. Or cheap ice cream.

Chicken lomito árabe from a local Lebanese shop is good too. Plus protein and doesn't leave me jittery. (lomito árabe was an adaptation of the shawarma to our more local ingredients. I haven't tried shawarma yet but wanna).

That cake sounds soooo good! Ahhhh.

A mug of grain coffee substitute with milk. And, if I'm hungry, a large pot of pasta with a tomato sauce with tuna, and some parmesan cheese.
Should you be in this thread?
I know I shouldn't be.

Got to go...
To get some chocolate...❤️

My comfort food is Steak frites. The steak done medium rare with a good char and the shoestring fries done in tallow or Duck fat. They are not a health food so I really do not care for them done in vegetable oil.

A close second is a Chicago Hot Dog dragged through the garden, including the sport peppers.
