Very interesting to hear the blues version of this song! Heavy metal band Budgie also covered the song. It's on their 1973 Album Never Turn Your Back on a Friend

It is an adaptation of a slave era folk song titled "Long John" but was first popularized by Big Joe Williams in 1935 under this title.
