8 facts about me....

I thought I would start this blog with a quick introduction. I'm SparklAng, my real name is Angharad. I am really happy I found this forum. Thank you to you all for being so welcoming to me.

I tend to go on a bit, writing concisely is not really a skill I have. So in an attept to keep this post short, I will just list 8 facts about myself (because lists are great, an eight is a lovely number- in my opinion anyway :p )

1. I love biology, philosophy, and art. The combination of my interests probobly contribute to me wanting to be a neurosurgeon (it is so much more than 'knowing stuff' about medicine. A profession in surgery requires creativity, firm moral values, and passion!)

2. I love cats.

3. My favourite shop is called 'shepards bookbinders'. It makes handmade books (as the name suggests) but also sells an endless selection of stunning japanese papers, and vintage/ limited edition papers from all around the world.

4. I really want to form friendships, but find social interaction exhasting, stressful, and sometimes really confusing.

5. I was diagnosed with high functioning autism in november 2016. Although looking back, it has affected me in both positive and negitive ways for most of my life.

6. I find it difficult to adapt to even small changes in everyday life (but I am learning ways to cope!)

7. I love music, and write my own songs. I play the guitar and sing.

8. Last week I dyed my hair dark purple! (Not in my current profile picture because I dont have a picture woth purple hair yet)

.... and thats all for now. I hope you have a good day.

I like music as well. I sing in a choir and play the accordion.
Do you publish your own music in some way? What kind of songs do you write?
Do you only play and sing for yourself or also publicly, for example in a choir or band or as a solo singer?

Thats really cool :) I dont hear of accordians very much. Are they difficult to play? I used to sing in a choir too actually. I am in the middle of recording my first album actually, which I am excited about. I dont know what style I write.... people have said it sounds kind of indie/ folk/ soft rock?

I like most genres of music and they all influence my writing (but I hate pop music!!!!) I am not in a band, although that would be cool. I used to perform in public, and I will do that again when I can. Im looking at open mic events and stuff. Do you perform?

It can be difficult at the beginning, but after playing for several years it's not that difficult for me anymore.
I guess it also depends on one's experiences with other instruments. For example, it's easier to learn if you already play the piano.

I only perform with the choir. Occasionally I also play the accordion for others, but not very often.
At a family gathering I sang with only one other person and a piano player once. But it was a rather small birthday party and not some kind of actual concert. We practised and did the performance as a birthday surprise there. It was a song I had already learned with the choir.
