Where do I find the chat bar?

The chat bar appears at the bottom of every page so long as you are logged into the forums and have permission to use it.

How do I chat with someone?

In order to chat with another member, that member must first be online the same time as you are and also added to your AC friends list. You can use the chatroom feature to chat with multiple people (group conversations). These people do not have to be on your AC friends list.

I want to appear offline or don't feel like chatting.

No problem. You can log out of the chat bar by clicking the downward facing arrow at the far right of the chat bar.

Can I configure settings for the chat bar?

A small number of settings can be configured by clicking on the cogwheel icon at the far right of the chat bar.

How do I view announcements concerning the chat bar?

Relevant announcements can be read by clicking the second icon (newspaper) from the left of the chat bar.

Can I change the look of the chat bar?

Yes. The theme can be changed by clicking on the icon to the right of the chatrooms button on the chat bar. More themes will be added in the future.

The chat bar doesn't appear to have loaded properly. How do I fix it?

Try refreshing the page. The chat bar is designed to work with most modern browsers. Please make sure your browser is up-to-date.

A member is misusing the chat bar. How do I report them?

Send a private message to a member of our moderating team and they will look into it.
