Are flat earthers for real?

How the heck is this true at all?

The flat earth theory goes back as far as time itself. Humans make new discoveries everyday but there is a theory that still stuck around to today's world. That is the flat earth theory. It used to be simple; the earth was flat and it had an edge. Later on, flat earthers claimed the antarctic is a huge ice wall and now more recently, they're claiming the earth is covered by a dome and that NASA and the UN is controlling us.

They have many errors and mistakes in their arguments and their arguments can easily be disproved with basic astronomy knowledge. Bellow is a list of claims they make and how they're wrong. Something surprising is none of this is new knowledge and even the ancient Greeks knew the earth was round.

1. The earth is flat. This is wrong because if the earth was flat, you'd see practically everything. If you were in the middle of the US, you'd see the tallest parts of the country like the mountains.

2. You can find out the earth it flat by looking straight with a telescope or binoculars. This is impossible because you're on the ground and binoculars or telescopes are not used to calculate curvature or that the earth is flat.

3. You can make an experiment with a buddy who lives in a different time zone than you. Have both of you use a mobile phone so you can communicate with each other. When it's 12:00 PM for you, you may see no shadow but your friend will see a shadow and it'll be a much bigger shadow for them if they're further away. This is because of the curvature of the earth. Another thing to point out is that it's impossible for time zones to exist in a flat earth because the sun would have to shine on every part of the world at the same time.

4. If the earth is round then why does the UN use a flat earth as their symbol? It's an azimuthal equidistant projection which is used to turn 3D objects into 2D objects. This argument also counter acts their argument that the UN has a naval fleet preventing people from going to Antarctica. You can still go to Antarctica when ever you'd like.

5. The famous image of the earth (The Blue Marble) is a CGI projection made by NASA and it's too close to the earth (18,000 miles away) to be true. Funny you should say that! I guess that's why satellites orbit the earth around 180 to 2,000 km or 112 to 1243 miles aka low earth orbit.

There are plenty of more facts showing the earth is round and debunking the flat earth arguments. These are just some of the few points you can use the next time you see a flat earther. You can look these up for yourselves and find a plentiful amount of information against the flat earth theory.
