Such a diverse group of people attended AutHaven, from those struggling to survive on SSI to those who were in their early forties but could afford to comfortably retire now if they chose to. From a nudist, to a male gay kabuki nun. From a chef to a young woman studying to be a neurologist. From published authors to people who could not write own their own name. From dancers and actors to engineers. From one of the trio who founded ANI so many ago,to a person who had just been diagnosed. From trans gender and cis sexual to cis gender and asexual. And we were all together. And it felt incredible. It felt like what so many of us had only imagined that home should feel like, except maybe better. And this was a wonderful yet grievous thing.
