If you want to be yourself, if this means breaking out of the norm while still keeping yourself bound to the external rules of society in the most comfortable way you feel, then why not be yourself?
I think for the time being, the form of expression I found is in clothes.
I found it hard to find clothing that I feel happy in my home country. My usual sizes are M and size 28. But I find it more comfortable, for some reason, for me to wear size 32 pants and XXL, sometimes 3XL T-shirts.
People either think I'm into hip-hop (which is quite true) or that I am wearing clothes like a child (which is not true). But in hip-hop, there are artists who wear tight clothes and are still successful. I feel out of touch with the new fitted style of fashion. I prefer 90's and early 2000's hip-hop.
My current clothes are mostly fitted. I find them too tight for my liking... I often look for clothes that say 'L'. A recent check with a rule, however, found that most clothes I see in Singapore stores are small - an 'L' would have been an 'S' in my predetermined definition, based on Famous Stars and Straps' size chart.
In addition, unlike societal norms, I sag my pants. It is somewhat more comfortable for my abs to not get stifled by some cloth underneath.
That's why, sometimes, I upload some pictures to make myself happy, since I cannot really get all what I want. Like say, the Pro Club white heavyweight T-shirt. Without this, I cannot make a value judgement on whether I can really wear the sort of style I like.
