Cannot be bothered with this ridiculous course with my patronising oaf of a lecturer who treats me like a 5 year old, and a thick 5 year old at that! He was using that tone with me today, you all know 'THE TONE' the one that every parent reserves for teaching an errant toddler not to draw on the walls, with just a hint of sarcastic superiority. I just wanted to scream at him "I may be autistic but I am NOT five and I am FAR from stupid!"
Also had major problems with other students gawking at me like I'm some sort of exhibit lately. I don't do anything out of the ordinary, just walk between my lectures like any other person. One girl actually did a full on double-take when she spotted me other day, then tried to make it OK because she was wearing sunglasses. I was like "OH MY GOD! I wear black jeans, motorcycle boots and a thick leather jacket in the middle of winter! I must be a freak because I'm not wearing Ugg boots and Chinos like everyone else!" Ugh! Honestly, some people just deserve a slap. In the face. With a steel chair. ^_^

Yes, and if you confront them they will say, I don't know what you mean, what is your problem, we aren't doing anything, it is all in your head. I know, I've been there and done that. And there isn't a thing you can do about it. They have the upper hand.

This is what I fear most about officially coming out as having Asperger's, that it just gives ammunition to the ignorant. That people will suddenly become patronizing. I was describing an incident to some friends at church the other day. One woman said "Oh, my!" She'd been through that sort of thing too and understood what I was talking about. The others, I don't think really got it. Because that sort of thing isn't part of their experience. Either that, or they are blessedly oblivious to that kind of treatment when they are on the receiving end.
