Bleaching my hair

So,I'm bleaching my hair. I accidentally got some bleach on my scalp and it burns...the chemical smell makes me dizzy,and yeah.i hope it actually works this time. My hair doesnt hold bleach or dyes very well. When I try to dye it,the color fades in about a week or two,and is never that strong to begin with! Its frustrating as heck...
Any advice as to how to help dyes and things stay longer in my hair?

That's something I leave to the professionals. In fact, I may be going in shortly to have my hair dyed gray for a play I am in!

My sister tried to dye her hair blond, but it didn't work. Only some of it changed in color. I think it's harder to go from dark to light colored hair, then it is to go from light to dark colored hair.

When I was younger I dyed my hair pink, then red just for fun. One of my other relatives likes to dye her hair different colors, just because she can, and she thinks it's fun.
