This day was really rather hard both physically because mum made us walk up a billion hills and mentally because well that’s just not going well.
The morning started with a walk up Baldwin Street the steepest street in New Zealand which took me all of 5 minutes and my family a lot more so as a stupid person does I did it twice so kill the time I was waiting for them to get back down. After that I was pretty tired but off we drove to tunnel beach which when we got there we discovered it was an hour long walk to get down there and down this stupid steep and very long hill which I did one and a half times because I forgot the SD card ot my camera and only realized when I was half way down and stopped to take a picture so back up the hill I went to get that and then I ran the whole way back down and well I’m not really supposed to run but shhhhh.
Tunnel was really pretty more so if you walk down the tunnel to get onto the actual beach part, we got there right as the tide was starting to come in and it was pretty funny watching everyone try to avoid the water coming in as I had found myself a nice spot on top of a rock to take some pictures and being able to avoid getting people in them, then we walked back up the thing which took ages and was really hard and we were all pretty exhausted by the end of that.
We drove for a while like a rather long while but not as long as we are going to be driving for today so my sister and I sat in the back listening to podcasts looking out the window as it rained miserably and was very cold eventually we arrived in Invercargill after stopping for lunch somewhere along the way.
About 4.30 we decided we would drive out to Bluff the furthest point south of the South Island for those who don’t know, I thought the rain and the cold and the wind would make for a horrible trip to see it but actually as we got there is started to fine up and it was really kinda pretty. Then dad made us walk up a hill to see a thing that was supposed to be 400m away but really was much further so that was not fun. Then we drove up to the lookout point and let me tell you driving up and down there in a camper van was well lets just say an experience it was very steep but all was okay. At the top it was so windy you had to hold on to the sides because if felt like you were going to get blown off especially with me being as small as I am.
And that was about our day, my night was terrible hence the lack of any postings last night so hopefully today is better and gets better from how it started.
