Well a smart person would have written this last night but I didn’t so it might be a little weird and I’m probably going to miss a lot of things but it might make for a shorter post so that will probably suit you guys better.
Yesterday we got on the road early and went off to Larnach Castle, so we could take advantage of the early bird special which ended up working very well because there was only a few other families in the castle when we got there and by the time we were ready to start exploring the ground the castle was filling with tourists coming off tour busses. The castle was amazing the work that has been put into it is somewhat mind blowing as all of the intricate ceiling designs and skirting boards where made by hand and it was been build and then required restoration after being abandoned, there is still evidence of its years of abandonment with slowing floors and cracked tiling but the attention to detail and the work that has been put in was amazing. That was just indoors, the gardens where so well done with some really cool flowers and there was so many gardens of different types which had different variations of flowers and plants and different purposes. The castle also had an amazing view out to the harbor.
After the castle on the ride back into Dunedin my sister and I listened to a podcast together probably one of our favorite things to do while driving, Dunedin was cool we started at the train station which was really pretty but I am mildly disappointed it’s not used for public transport and only has a train that goes a couple times a day to do a scenic tour. We then walked into the city to see the octagon which I can’t say I enjoyed at all, I was reminded why I don’t want to live in a city, and we had some lunch I don’t eat anything very exciting or adventurous, so I just had some chips. After lunch we went and looked at some churches which honestly, I’m not really sure how I feel about because I know my parents intentions and they don’t fit with what I think one should be going into a church for but anyways moving on.
We went into the early settlers museum which was so cool and exciting and it was just great, moving on from the early, early settler business which we here about almost every year at school there was trams which we got to go and sit on and an old trolley bus that you could go sit on too and some old cars and like washing machines and fridges and such through the years and it was just very exciting and I walked through the museum flapping quietly to myself because it was just so great and I had so much fun that will probably be one of my overall highlights of the trip.
We headed back to the campsite staying a second night here and ordered pizza which started a trend because then the pizza person came back a further 5 times to deliver people pizza so that was a bit funny. I was quite done with the world last night and was seriously ready for bed by the time bed time rolled around.
So that wasn’t so short after all sorry about that, maybe today will be shorter
