Facing fear head-on

A personal challenge I thought to write about.

This morning, I was nervous about going to get a tooth operation done at the hospital.
As I sat in a room waiting for the nurse to arrive, I saw someone being wheeled down the corridor outside who had been knocked out by the gas. I could've done without looking at that. :P
I was given some sedative to calm my anxiety.
I had brought my teddy with me so he was beside me on the bed as I was wheeled out, down corridors to the surgery room.
The doctor then slapped on some gel to my arm and then, as he told me to look at a TV, he put a needle in my arm.
I thought they said the needle would not go in until after the sleep gas knocked me out!
But, the sedative had made me too tired to care.

Then, I had the mask put on.
I was asked to take deep breaths
One deep breath. Still awake!
Two deep breaths. Still staying up!! :D
Then after a third breath...
K.O!! :P
Out goes TMT!!
It was 40 minutes before I was awake again, but to me it took a few seconds.

On the way to the car, my mum was holding my hand since I had such poor balance from the anaesthic wearing off. :P

So in short, I faced my fears and did it. :)

Great job!!! We are all proud of you! Anything to do with teeth is a horror to me. I ran away from the dentist's office 5 times in grade 1, where mom my had dragged me to get a tooth pulled.
