fragility

People treat me different. It's in the tone of their voices the looks on their face. They look at me with pity.. and fill my head with lies because they are afraid I can't handle the truth.

Heads up, autism doesn't mean stupid. It's a neurological phenomenon and mostly affects how I interact with others, controlling my emotions in a positive manner and over stimulation of any sort. people seem to think I can't understand what they are saying so they just talk about me when I am in ear shot. Please I am not an idiot.. and it DOES hurt my feelings when people do that.

Perhaps I am fragile, but I really don't want to live a lie

I hear you. I told someone (maybe I should say that I admitted to someone) that I'm on the spectrum the other day. She replied that she has a friend with a retarded kit. Um. I was so stunned that I was just didn't know what to say, except, "It's not the same thing."
