I Confess: Geordie Blog Version

I confess:

I believe some of my friends are leading lives that they don't examine much. And they think it is still worthwhile.

Sometimes you have to ask yourself, why live life the way you do. Why do we do this, why do we do that, what do we want to achieve in our lives.

So I ask myself:

Why get a degree? Why even think of a PhD? Why do you need to move out of Singapore and do that advanced degree, if I really need that PhD? (Singapore probably does not have enough universities to have the PhD places for PhDs, just to note)

Why volunteer? Why work for free in the autism school? Why even think of autism, have you taken a survey of the greatest gap between needs versus resources in where you live now, Geordie?

Why work so hard? It's good working at a low pay and live in your momma's basement. There are other boomerang kids like you. Plus, it's less stressful, and not everyone is meant to be a genius or a hard worker.

Why do you think about familial responsibilities. True, you're still living in your momma's basement, so you take care of the whole family. But you jolly well know your limits in life. You are not the super-worker you want others to perceive you, and you don't need to adhere to your society's 'sense of shame'.

Why don't you drive, driving is a skill, and it's fun!

--- --- ---

I think it may be good if I just simplify my life. Perhaps I should lead my life as if there is no tomorrow or yesterday. It should be great to have fun and enjoy life as it is, today.
