I don't trust these online Aspergers quizzes.

The RDOS Aspergers quiz. I took it twice, a few months apart, without any overt or conscious biases.

First time result: 158/200
Second time result: 179/200

Ah, the joys of self-reporting.

I agree. I sometimes wonder if people just make up what they want to see instead of actually getting up the courage to go to a therapist or neuropsych and getting tested.

I think, however, that if the quiz is good, simply seeing the questions, even without answering them is educational, regardless of how one thinks those questions do or don't apply to oneself.

@ Miss Arashi: I don't know if I could be so presumptuous as to assume people are explicitly out to get a certain score...but nonetheless unconscious bias is a very real issue--I consider myself a scientific skeptic and am well aware of the mind's ability to fool itself on the deepest, most sub-conscious level. I won't discount scores from one of these quizzes outright, and (as stell says) they do give the subject things to think about, but I AM quick to say that THE SECOND TIME DOES NOT COUNT. EVER.

Okay...Goodbye, soapbox.

@Arashi don't forget many cannot afford in any way to see a doctor for diagnosis. Both Butterfly Lady and I are in that group. It is simply unattainable
though yes it would different if money were not the issue

I'd like to add that even a professional giving a diagnosis also has unconscious bias...

I do understand that in some cases the online quizzes are the closest things to getting a real dx. I am not saying that self dx isn't a start but somewhere along the line getting an official dx can be very helpful in terms of services. Also I agree with the idea that the professional giving the evaluation can have bias. I know that it was noted many times in my newest evaluation that the professional admittedly worked more with males than females and hence determined that i was on the border between AS/PDD NOS and have something called NVLD. Now I am just saying that while they are good starting point I don't really hold that much to them.

I am not sure about those quizes, either........... sighs....... money and therapists. I think my therapist sees me for free? or assumes reimbursement at some point from the gov. ?????? Maybe you can find a sliding fee scale? somewhere?

Sometimes, I might answer a question differently based on mood? or be good at guessing............. I AM interested in home improvement and how to books, if pressed. I prefer to guess that the faces are with good intentions, therefore, I *might* pass the test if that is the true picture of feelings. but in my heart, I was only guessing. I'm too sweet and naive. I think happy thoughts. I project those thoughts on to other people's minds. Sometimes, I guess wrong in real life. People take advantage of me. Documented. ..........Sighs............ THanks for allowing my comments. I don't k now my way around this website yet? I do talk/ramble too much!
