The happy child in me was gone after that. We struggled on only one income as my dad never helped with anything
after that. i remember my mom going without food often to make sure my sister Kelley and I had plenty to eat.
Though we shared a room until I was 5 and played together all the time we started to become distant since my sister
blamed it on my mom and I knew it was his fault. My first birthday & christmas without dad was real hard since he did
not visit or buy any gifts for us. I really started to hate him at this point and found going to any friends or relatives
events such as parties difficult. I could not handle seeing other kids have a happy relationship with their father or even
see it on television without crying. I knew I was different than the other kids since I was interested in adult things more than
toys & cartoons though I still enjoyed them. I was much more in to cars, electronics and grown up shows like Doctor Who,
Kung Fu and Space 1999. Unlike most kids I would take apart all my toys and electronics but I could put them back together
again as well as modify them. Besides playing with my hot wheels cars I would read books on auto repair and car magazines
to learn as much as possible about them. I stopped listening to kids records early about 3 and fell in love with classic rock
recieving my first album Alice Coopers greatest hits for my 5th birthday.
