Shelving empathy for the time being, let me talk about languages.

I want to learn all of them. ALL of them. I want to be able to read and write and listen to them, in that order. Speaking may or may not be a by-product of understanding.

Focusing primarily on vocabulary, since it is easiest, I keep fluctuating between Spanish, French, Icelandic and Swahili. I credit my willpower for having been able to keep it to so few in the past couple of weeks. It is all there is the dictionaries; words, words, always more words. I can't learn them all in one go, of course; I haven't even been able to determine whether the French - Norwegian or the Norwegian - French part yields best results. Or maybe the phrase section in the middle, although it tends to get boring. I can make it more fun by making it not about booking flight or hotel rooms; deconstructing sentences until I only get basic phrases.

There are some of those in the word-parts, too. Just go look for the words that have longer listings than the others. Those will tend to contain idioms or other uses of the word.
