The concept of word cloud is simple: A program scan a document or a group of documents, like a website, and then generates a graphic showing the most common keywords, the size of the word is relative to the number of times the word appears... this is a helpful tool for research and marketing, so for instance your target audience is people with autism, you generate a word cloud about it, using other websites, and get a clear visual of other keywords that might be related to the topic.
I chose this image to represent a word cloud about autism for 3 main reasons:
1. It is not shaped like a brain... At this point I will just give credit if they don't use puzzle pieces or shape things like a brain.
2. The graphic designer intentionally chose a scary color pallet.
3. This word cloud is fake, as the same words repeat over and over again, in a real word cloud the word would just show bigger. In this word cloud I counted 8 times the word "disease" and of course 10 times the word "brain".
Why they have to create a fake word cloud when creating a real one would be actually easier? and then all the scary stuff, from the colors to the choice of words... I find this just bizarre, so I post it here.
