Yesterday's walk was furr tastic. Quiet area-park & I see a squirrel drinking water. Hmm I haven't seen that too much. I give off a friendly squirrel greeting-he/she kept on drinking. So I'm like:
"hey, it's cute looking at you but you have to move. Btw whoah! The the tip of your tail is cut off-who got you? A dog or hawk?" Still the squirrel did not move! I'm like "ahem, look I have to walk past you so scoot for now hokay?" As I slowly advanced the squirrel finally hopped away.
After a few more squirrel calls, I stood still. The squirrel came running back to me! Very close up; I guess someone in the area feeds him. I said "hey Mr. Squirrelman, I don't have any food for you, let me check my pockets...nope...you one cute guy. Now you take off and be careful of the dog and hawks."
With that I slowly started walking away the the squirrel with the tip of his tail cut off moved in the opposite direction. A little bit later coming around a bend I saw a squirrel drinking someting. As I approached and gave off a greeting sound, the squirrel didn't even look at me!
I walked closer and the squirrel didn't budge? Looking down I saw the squirrel was lapping up the remains of spillage from a crushed Hershey's Chocolate syrup container. Hmmm "dang chocolate/sugar addict I thought..."
"Come on now squirrel you have to move...I want to go that way." The squirrel looked up at me and leaped into the snowfield but kept close to his chocolate find...
Today's walk wasn't as furrtastic but it was still glorious...I think the large pine tree talked to me...
PS: some of my squirrel conversations were more extended but in order not to freak out the four legged I have edited some of my conversations with the squirrels...
