And other rants.
Seriously, they want to take away the care company who get me up most mornings and help me to run a Bath and get ready and stuff because the company are "too expensive" and are no longer on the Social services' books! Not being funny but they knew the company in question were one of the more expensive ones when they signed them up and sent them to me last October, so why have they suddenly decided to end the contract now?
Government cutbacks most likely! I hate the Tories! And they hate me! I can't help that I was born disabled, if I could have an operation on the NHS to make me able bodied, I would willingly do so but no such thing exists and probably never will.
They also wanted me to change my main care company, OK I know there's the problem with communication, or rather, lack thereof, with the Managers, but that aside the carers are great and I would be sad to leave them, especially with the prospect of the only viable alternative to the Social, being Council care and I do NOT want 20 minute visits to get me up, the carer does as little as possible and then leaves! My late Gran had that kind of care when she was still living at Home just before she died and it was awful.
Also, it's not my fault or problem that due to the nature of care work, most care companies are frequently VERY short staffed, yet the Socials make it my problem because it's ME and my Parents who suffer every time the care company's got no staff so that can't cover my calls.
At least I start the voluntary job at Sue Ryder when the shop opens next Tuesday, 2 half days a week Tuesdays and Fridays 10 AM to 2 PM, although even that will probably foul all my care up, I rang the morning care company up last week after I'd had the meeting to confirm I'd got the job to change the morning calls on Tuesdays and Fridays from next week till further notice, and they keep saying that can't do it because to change the rota for 1 person fouls everyone else's schedule up, and according to them they have severely disabled clients who need to be medicated at specific times which cannot be changed.
I hate to be unsympathetic but that's NOT my problem, my life does NOT kowtow to their scheduling system as much as they'd like it to.
Like someone rang me on the mobile from The Source Skills Academy last week, they wanted me to do a Maths course which starts tomorrow morning at The Source near Meadowhall at 10 AM, so I rang the morning care company to see if they could change the AM call on Wednesdays as a regular thing to allow me to be on a Meadowhall bound Tram by 09.30 AM and they said they can't do it for reasons explained 2 paragraphs ago.
I wanted to do the course as well, because the 1 qualification that has eluded me since before I left school is GCSE Maths, which is required for even entry level "Office Gofer" positions nowadays, which at 40 odd I'm too old for anyway because they want 16 year old kids straight from school so they can "mould" them into the Corporate world.
I WILL get a Maths certificate at some point, even if I have to give up the Pub quiz on a Wednesday night to go to local College for Night school.
Anyway I've done a long Blog tonight so I'll stop here.
