Tell me where I shall not go
And I will go
Because I want to know
What the world will show
The sacrifices we make for our curiosities
A somber light invites me into the pulsing rain
But a warning is given
On the day the sun shines through the rain
Foxes wed in their private procession
But I must see
What I ought not
Because I have to know
What the world will show
I go
Into the forest the trees tower
Authorative and intimidating
The green rustles beside me
The rain slides down those towers
And through the green
The fog rolls through nature?s path
Shrouding the forbidden
I gaze through
And see
The drums, the walk, the dance, the reverence
The foxes clad as humans are
The sacred turn to me with a start
In fear, I race home
Bounding through the puddles in the mud
I am greeted not with shelter
But with gloom and a blade
And instructions I must abide
Forgiveness or death I do not know
But now I know
What the world will show
And I must go
Through the field of flowers
And under the rainbow.
