I don't have a stuffed animal, or a live pet I have to sleep with but, I do have to sleep with a Velux blanket, preferably a mauve one but, brown or red will do if there are no mauve ones available when I need a new one.
Technically, he's a Canis rufus, or red wolf. The recovery area is in South Carolina, I think. Unfortunately, they have been completely failed by the US government. In the first place, there were supposed to be two more recovery areas, one in Florida, and one within driving distance of my house (!!!) but it was not to be. Then there's this thing with coyotes. Coyotes are technically invasive species, and resemble red wolves a bit. Because of their solitary behavior compared to wolves, a good way of managing them is to capture coyotes, spay or neuter them, then release them back into the wild. Each coyote will hold down it's territory from other coyotes, and when a red wolf is ready to move into the area, they'll kick the coyote out. Unfortunately, the culture of violence thinks it's better to shoot things any time you get an excuse, so the state of South Carolina is holding coyote hunts even in the recovery area, and red wolves are getting caught in the cross-fire. Leading cause of death for red wolves is gunshot wounds.Thats a cute teddybear. My teddybears are my two cats

Why does it have to be mauve? Im just curious
I did something similar. I had a fantasy where all stuffed animals came from a special planet for stuffed animals, and then they were flown to Earth, placed in a store, and then bought by children. I imagined stories about how they would interact with each other, and had a little notebook where I would write down some of the things I imagined. But I never did much actual cuddling with them, it was all about the fantasy in my head. Today, I still have my stuffed animals, and I have used their old personalities as inspiration for characters, but I don't really play with them. When I was a child, I used to have a large collection of stuffed animals that I built an imaginary world out of. Each animal had a name, personality, "voice", and role in the story.
I'm moving in that direction. Unfortunately I live in a family of meat-eaters, and they do love to proselytize.I hate any form of hunting or harming animals. That's why I'm a vegetarian.
