this is the bike that tried to send me away the day i got to ride it again after my accident...and they said i would never walk...there is that never promise again
Awesome! Good for you. Riding clears my head. My now husband builds rat rod trucks, bicycles etc... We might have a HD of some kind this season!!! he's gonna work on it then sell.. Maybe

@Gary DuBois 1989 4 speed with tons of top end and induction mods.
I run an aftermarket ignition system with fully programmable advance curves to compensate to the cylinder head and cam mods.

OOo~ I've been aching to see an exposed filter but I didn't expect to also see it on a Harley as pretty as this!

Happy you keep getting up and never give up. It's what true "ride or die" bikers do.

Is an oiled cotton gauze aftermarket filter sold to the rice-racer car builders for making those silly and useless cold air intakes.
I designed and machined a polished aluminum mount with improved induction flow features to mount it.
It is rigidly mounted to both of the cylinder heads and also serves as the carburetor attach point since it was originally done that way from the factory.

The factory cakepan airbox was both restrictive and dripped crankcase ventilation oil on the lower parts of the unit.
Can't have that on shiny stuff.
My replacement parts gave me improved flow with an unrestricted reciprocating aircraft engine type air cleaner.

It was more about the performance than the looks.

Good job. You have to be more careful and protect this one from mud and stuff?

Not exactly.
Won't see a lot of mud on the road and cotton gauze filters actually improve as they take on dirt.
When they no longer pass light, it is time to wash them in soapy water, re-oil them and ride again.
