Yellowhead

Sometimes called a Bush Canary because of its sweet song (and colouration), sadly it looks like it will be extinct in another 30 to 50 years
Joel I
There are but efforts to protect the Yellowhead but the habitat is remote and very rugged also its confined now into three separate populations so in-breeding has become a major problem all of it making it hard work not to mention the on-going work controlling the Stoats that prey on it, the good news is that public awareness of this bird has been raised in recent years and encourage them to donate to the conservation teams looking after it (many NZ's don't even know it exists).

Laughingowl1975 that is good to hear that they are trying. Hopefully they will find a way. It is so sad that the general public are unaware and not care about so much of the environmental issues.
