  • I find myself stronger and more stable following five rough years. Learning to be grateful and positive has literally saved my life and protected my mind. Life IS hard but it can always be worse. I hope something good happens to YOU today.

They say laughter is the best medicine, but I think gratitude is way up there. Even when it's not easy, it genuinely can turn an entire day around ❤️

I had an amazing day. So glad I agreed to get to know people from my workplace at a candle lit service then lunch afterwards. Just because I’m a smiley and helpful member of staff it has gained me meaningful connections.
My city caught on fire yesterday and we have had no power for 20+ hours. I am grateful my home did not burn, but the fires are still raging. Challenges like this are a good reminder of how great life typically is. Access to power, refrigeration, and cell phone signals is largely taken for granted. My phone only works randomly.

That's a good attitude to have. Sometimes a little deprivation does us more good than harm.

We are experiencing the Santa Anna winds, which is low humidity like 1%~20% max, with winds 20mph-50mph. It immediately drys everything out then fires usually start. More than 14.000 acres have burned so far and it is still not contained at all. 24 hours without power now. My fish and coral are dying :(
Exciting day, 52 miles per hour winds, my whole area lost power, Santa Anna winds are gnarly today. Looks like it’s time to read a book and snuggle with the dog. :)

I got him one year and a week ago. He is such an amazing dog. Just finished giving him a bath and warm air dry down. How have you been?

Nice. :) Just been working with a lot of early morning starts setting my alarm for 5:15am. I’m not a morning person. Been going to the gym 3 times a week and getting into the Christmas spirit on my days off.

There are a lot of desert climates near me, and the Painted Desert in Arizona left a lifelong impression on me. I can’t handle heat though.

I've never seen the Painted Desert but photos of it are beautiful

It’s mostly a petrified forest, with rainbow colors. The trees became fossilized rocks and have vibrant colors that look painted instead of natural.
I just noticed that you are in Ventura Co. I grew up in Oxnard.

Neat, it’s a great area isn’t it? I love the weather in Oxnard it always feels 10 degrees cooler than where I am.
