  • Thank you. It is good to know the why of the condition. Plus I’ll enjoy (I guess?) reading about “disorganized" migrational layering of neurons & neurotransmitter imbalance.

Hi Have you found anything to help with tinnitus? I’ve had it for more than a decade 24 hrs/day. I’m used to it but wouldn’t be sorry to ‘hear it go.’

Not really. Unlike other forms of tinnitus (and visual disturbances) that are vascular in nature or from some sort of injury, our form is likely due to a thalamo-cortico dysrhythmia. It is a combination of somewhat "disorganized" migrational layering of neurons, as well as, some degree of neuronal anatomical aberration and neurotransmitter imbalance.

Tinnitus can be caused by a lack of magnesium but you've got to be very to precise in how much magnesium you use if for instance you use indigestion tablets that are magnesium carbonate you would have to add that into however much you take as a supplement or you will become very familiar with the toilet

You can use "chelated" magnesium supplements. Easy to find. Generally better tolerated and absorbed. Magnesium is also good for relaxing the heart and blood vessels, helping with anxiety-induced blood pressure issues. Having said that, I take a fair amount of magnesium, 1000-1500mg/day, and no change in my tinnitus,...but perhaps worth a try anyway.
    What does Neonatal mean?

Yes. Histamine is one of many "inflammatory mediators" that are responsible for shifting fluid to an area of infection or allergen exposure in order to "dilute" the bacteria, allergen,...whatever is triggering the response. There are ways to block that histamine response.

I am taking an anti-histamine tablet each day and drinking more water which I have heard helps flush the system of histamine. There is more I can do, I believe. Any suggestions? I will be engaging with Dr Google sometime down the track again.

    Google scholar: "resveratrol and histamine"
Although there is little data specifically studying resveratrol within the context of histamine intolerance, resveratrol does appear to stabilize the mast cells. Mast cells release histamine when they burst. Stabilize the mast cells,...no histamine. Personally, I take 1000mg reservatrol daily.
