My name is Randy. I am 53 years old. I was diagnosed by a neurologist in the 1970s with Tourettes syndrome around age 12, but a multitude of tics began around age 6.
In addition to the motor and vocal tics characteristic of TS I've always struggled with a plethora of other more inner unseen issues and have become ever more convinced that these may be AS related. When signing up for Aspie Central I said that I was "self diagnosed" although I'm not sure that's even possible for me to do with any authority, but I had to select one option and that was the most accurate of the choices available.
Other than that, I love cats, I am single, never married with no kids as formingc and maintaining friendships and relationships in general is very difficult and confusing to me. I tend to communicate best online and use Facebook as my preferred social "safe" zone. I love music and play several instruments, but predominantly guitar and sing. I lead music at my church and entertain in local retirement homes as music is the one way I can best express myself and when I play and sing my tics vanish as if by magic.
