    Fear of the ordinary

Funny thing is I KNOW that I can swim, but I still lack the confidence to dive in, even with things I've done many times before. For instance, next week I am taking a trip by train that will involve a few stops and changes. Even though I have done it many times before, I am still absolutely...

    Fear of the ordinary

Does anyone else get fearful of ordinary things/situations? I have panic attacks even just going to the store for milk. I'll do it, but I have to psych myself into it and my heart is racing the entire time.

I don't know how to word this really

Not lately, I can't enjoy things at the moment the way I normally would.

I don't know how to word this really

Nothing that really comes to mind. Even if there was, I don't really have any spare time for that sort of thing.

I don't know how to word this really

I haven't tried anything because I don't know what causes it and therefore don't know what fixes it. It's been going on for years, off and on. I have been fairly stressed for the past month or so, things are starting to calm now though.

I don't know how to word this really

My head feels really screwed up lately. This is the only way I can feel to describe it... Imagine about 50 televisions, all on a different channel and at full volume, and you're trying to listen to just one of them. It's noisy and confusing and makes you want to block your ears and scream...

So I finally heard back from the psychologist about an assessment

And it's going to cost me about $2000 just to complete it 😐 I think I'll just stick to being my quirky self for free!

    Failing to focus

So this sounds more like an ADHD symptom?

    Failing to focus

No, I don't have any problems with sleep, and at other times I'm fine.

    Failing to focus

Is it common for autistic people to have a hard time focusing on things that require great attention? As a musician, I have found that a majority of the time I'll sit down to practice and after 5-10 minutes I will be very tired and groggy, finding it almost impossible to stay awake and focus...

    'Toe walking' quick question.

I've noticed that toe walking is mentioned frequently as an autistic trait. While I don't do this, I have noticed that when I'm standing still to do something (brushing my teeth, cooking, etc.) I will feel uncomfortable if I stand with my feet flat, and prefer to raise one foot from the toes...

    Hello

After all these years of living under a diagnosis of 'depression' I was starting to wonder if that was the actual case, as I just didn't feel right. I looked around at the way other people my age were living and behaving and I just felt like the way I am isn't quite 'normal' - so I'm under the...

    Hello

Hi everyone, From what I can gather, I'm not alone in the type of forum member that I am - I'm not yet diagnosed, but I'm fairly certain that I am autistic to some degree. I'm a 42 year old male who was diagnosed with depression at 17, but I'm starting to feel that there's something more to...
