Going back to our roots, Aspie/Autie Poll time

I have to go with biological trauma. My mother did not know she had lupis when she had me. I was also premature and have other biological differences that while should be genetic, no one in my family has, like geographic tongue.

Something I've noticed about many people

simple, NT's store memories in a different way then we do. Also with less importance on things and more about people. I am sure many NT's think the same thing about me when I have no clue about some thing I should know about a person.

Ok here we go, Need advice and help.

What about renting a room in a boarding house? I don't know how prevalent they are out there. I live in Rhode Island and every thing here is expensive and I make less than you do. They are usually around 400-600 with everything included. Sure you not really living alone, but it's way better...

    Talking/over-sharing as a stim?

Hehee. I am the same way. When I get nervous I will try comedy too. Most the time it goes over well, but sometimes I will make a joke that is hilarious to me and not to anyone else. Then I just end up looking like the idiot being the only on in the room laughing. If people ask questions...

To what fictional character (s) can you relate?

I would have to say L from the anime Death Note. Really intelligent and very strong sense of justice, yet quirky, and seen as being odd, and different.

Fascinated with colours and how they rule

I am not fascinated with colors of clothing. Colors in my art on the other hand. I spend an unhealthy amount of time looking for just the right hue for my work. Sometimes I will spend hours toiling over what looks better.

    A new AQ-test by Newsweek?

I got a 41, which is right. I always score 39-41 no matter where or when I take the AQ. What really blew my mind this week was taking the RAADS-R this week and scored exactly the same score I got when I took it back in April, 194. Mind you I did not take it any between April and this week.

Interest that needs to much focus

Thank you everyone. Trust me when I say, while I am not in a position to act on some of this great advice, I plan on bringing these ideas to my doctor and look into how I may be able to get some support or assistance to do some of these great ideas. Thank you again for all your support.

Interest that needs to much focus

I am starting to see a second doctor who knows Aspergers. I am hoping she can help me with resources to get a job that would work better for me. All my experience is retail lower management, so getting into a new field will be tough, even for an NT. School is out of the question because...

Interest that needs to much focus

I'm the implosive type when it comes to meltdowns, as exploding got me in much trouble when I was little. I shutdown, and my stims like rubbing hands becomes bloody digging my fingernails into my skin. My bosses are usually to self absorbed to notice. When I get home I need to vent it, either...

Interest that needs to much focus

Yea, it's funny cause I can remember every movie cover from working in video stores, but I can't remember the customer I was helping if they move into a different isle. It takes me for ever to remember names, but faces it's nearly impossible. I remember when the front desk woman drastically...

Interest that needs to much focus

I would love to do this, but I don't have the ability or life skills to do so. Can't even handle bills, I have to live where it's all included in rent. I have really poor executive function. I keep jobs base on my ability to learn multiple positions and my extremely strong ability to remember...

Interest that needs to much focus

That's exactly like me, not the opposite. My ability to cope with life is relative to how often I can do these things. I need to be functional to do them, so it becomes a vicious circle. It will just get worse till I end up self harming to cope. I hate being like this. Don't even get me to...

Interest that needs to much focus

I have a few special interests, computer hardware, games, and CGI effects. The problem is I work a very stressful retail job and suffer from severe anxiety. Most days I don't have the energy to even play games for more then an hour before losing focus. I love CGI effects, but I only have the...

Does my criteria make me seem like someone with Aspergers?

I love video game music. I once spent a week in the army with a guy who also shared this interest. We each took turns humming a mega man level and the other had to try to guess the level boss, we knew almost all of them by heart. I later found Japanese music. Many people think it's all pop...
