Originally diagnosed with Asperger's and PDD-NOS, now Autism 1, at age 60. This includes inability to interact socially, with extreme social anxiety, including inability to understand body language, facial expression, or subtleties of language. I understand the nuances of rocks better than people.
Also afflicted with Anthrophobia (also called Demophobia)(fear of people, especially crowds) and alexithymia.
Have an emotional crippling (have not found the technical term) in which I am unable to feel love, bonding or connection to other people, but not lack of empathy.
I have no friends, and no social life. In fact, I have never had any friends in my life.
Besides autism and related comorbidities, I have been officially diagnosed with AD(no H)D.
The season from mid October through New Year's I find especially troubling. The whole season is all about socializing, friendship and togetherness, none of which I can participate in. I want to have these feelings more than anything else. Christmas music is like a constant mocking slap in the face.
