Weighted vest

Just saw a video of an autistic woman who recommended wearing a weighted vest. I love my new weighted blanket, it really helps with my restlessness - so thinking I might like a weighted vest too. Has anyone tried one? Any recommendations? I found one on Amazon for $150, hoping to find one for cheaper that still looks good

What I've wanted for a while is to try out weighted objects, to see if they're beneficial to me. I don't know if it's something that will make me feel comforted or constricted.

I recommend trying a weighted blanket! Mine is 20lb and I love it, I feel like any heavier it would be too hard to move. This is the one I got:

Amazon.com

It’s too small for the bed but otherwise I really like it. I’d recommend looking for an oversized one if you plan to use it as a comforter on your bed.

I have used a weighted blanket for years - seems to help me sleep better although I still have sleep problems. Have not tried a weighted vest, but I could see it as potentially having a calming affect. I recall liking the feeling when they put the weighted vest on my chest when getting x-rays at the dentist. I felt calmer and more secure. I think the weight helps your brain recognize where your body is in space. That seems to be a struggle for those with autism, almost as if your brain loses track of where your body is. Also may explain the poor hand eye coordination.

I find them very comfortable.

If I wanted to make some cash, I would open a shop and advertise these things as "made for autistic people by autistic people," then knit them and sell them.

Methinks it should transform your chores into a bit of a workout.🤔

Weighted clothing - Just the right addition to carrying hay bales and 40-50 lb. grain bags.😅
