Eating with food aversions

It depends on the foods, doesn't it?

I puree cooked fruits and vegetables to use as the
wet part of biscuits, as one way to get myself to
eat things that I don't enjoy chewing.

I’m on a kick of puréed soups. I can get the same texture every time in my blender, but I can change the ingredients to get a wider variety of nutrients.

I find things that I can drink pretty quickly (like soup or a smoothie) very palatable.

To manage an aversion to smells that make it difficult to eat, I typically cook my food separately from eating it. I make the food and store it in the fridge or freezer until it is actually time to eat. Then, there’s barely any prep that causes difficult smells.
 
I eat mostly frozen plant based meats, and boxed and no salt added canned foods. Some frozen veggies.

Maybe some of it isn’t the best for me. But my body handles it better than real meat and dairy.

Also it seems every time you turn around, there’s some recall on meats and fresh foods. Another thing is that stuff doesn’t always keep so well, and I don’t like going to the store any more than I have to. Or wasting food.

Main thing is I always know exactly what I’m getting. For people with finicky body systems, that’s a good thing.

I don’t do restaurants anymore, but when I did, I only did franchised fast food. Same reason, consistency, little to no surprises.

When I find something that works I stick with it.

pasta and cheese
rice, chicken and corn
I just try to keep it simple and I know it always tastes the same.
 
When you're dealing with food aversions, sometimes simple things like plain rice, toast, or a mild soup can be a good start. It might also help to try small portions more often instead of big meals.
