Yes, I will. Not immediately, because I have to feed the chickens and bring some wood up from out back while the weather is dry this afternoon. But, yes. Soon I will say a little about that idea.

Here is a short rendition of the idea. In between and Event and an Action, a person....Thinks. The Thought intervenes. Whatever you think---is the Story. For instance: seeing a razor blade,a cat, object X,action Z. The action you take take upon the Sight depends on what you tell yourself.

I wasn't sure how long these posts can be. So I am breaking this up into more than one. Some people are in the habit of using short hand....and saying "X" is a Trigger. Some people get very upset over their "triggers." They aren't taking the time to listen to what Story they are telling themselves. Because any object or event can be the basis for multiple attitudes & actions. Examples in the next section.

Razor blade...cd prompt a person to think "I need a shave." or "That reminds me of my dad." or "Here's just what I need to cut that piece of cord." It doesn't mean a person is obligated to scratch on legs or arm with it. Cat---"Nice.Haven't seen him since yesterday" or "oh my. it has long teeth."

Next action: Feed it or run away/yell at it/throw things....?Depends of whether you have told yourself it's hungry or a threat. X or Z....any event or action does NOT in itself prompt one reaction. It is the Story you tell yourself that leads to the Action you take.

So, is the idea that how a person reacts to an event/action is directed by the story they tell temselves about the event/action and not the event/action itself? If a person sees a cat and then tells themself the story that 'the last time I stroked a cat it scratched me', their reaction may be to avoid the cat.

They are responding to the story rather than the cat, the cat just happens to be the object that the story is connected to?
