Thought for sure I had found spare parts but the owner is hanging onto it until it sells intact. (It's falling apart).
I saved the photo for reference

Hopefully using the snapshots and with the other organ here for a baseline measurement I can use ratios to replicate the top eventually

So you don’t want to buy it intact? Or they don’t want to sell it? Sorry, I might have misunderstood lol. I tend to do that :/

I could buy the other one for parts but they only want to sell to a restorer. Rebuilding is costly, and at the end of the day I would be stuck with the other one.
People get understandably sentimental about things sometimes

I get that. I get very sentimental about my inanimate objects too. But maybe you could negotiate with them :) You do technically restore them.

The organ I have cost less than three dollars and plays great but may need $350 worth of bellows and seals. The other is going to need the same restoration and still end up without the top.

Sounds like dealing with a car :/ You end up paying more than it’s worth.

Taking their great-grandfather 's organ just for some of the woodwork bothers them yet it's rotting in a dry garage.
