Like if I was a child, I would NOT try to grab a dog that was growling and snapping. That’s just common sense. I ended up scolding the kid and the mother. I don’t tolerate people being unsafe with my dogs. All it takes is one bad bite with a child and a dog can get ordered to be put down, for something that was not their fault. People need to teach kids dog safety.

My dogs love kids for the most part and I would describe all of them as generally kid-safe, but no dog is going to tolerate a small child running full speed at them, making sudden movements and reaching for their face. This is basic dog safety 101. Learn to read their body language.

Even with adults, dogs don’t like strangers grabbing them by the face or the head. And they need to make an “assessment” of you before you just freaking touch them. They are still animals.
