A little late now perhaps, but I just thought I'd mention there are some handy tools called weed pullers, or weeders, that makes it easier. Long handle so you don't have to crawl around on knees or bend over.

@Raggamuffin, I did some weeding today, I had to or else they would have strangled and starved my poppies and Scotch marigold. Sometimes you just have to do it.
