You don't need to look like a model when you are a model.

Can you explain the context of this response? Sorry, I feel dumb lol

No worries - sometimes I'm not good at wording things - what I mean is that you already are a model, so you would by default look like one, just like anyone who is an athlete has an athlete's physique. So just like you're saying, there is no one-size-fits-all, and don't let anyone tell you that you don't look like a model.

Aww, thank you! I'm not good at wording things either so don't worry. I obviously don't do professional modeling but I model for my girlfriend's portfolio. Which I guess still counts. And there are obviously still mid size and plus size models too... I should've worded that better as well. I should've said I don't look like Barbie. Lol

And yeah, I'm also an athlete and I definitely look like an athlete. I'm just tired of people telling me I need to be skinnier than I am because there's nothing wrong with my body the way it is.

"Curvy" is good. ;)

Having an athletic body type is so much better than just being skinny anyway. Plus, it's healthier!

Congrats on getting healthier. If you get low in weight, those same people will come back and say, you need to eat some food. Everybody is a critic. Just look at them like they are minus a brain and move on.

Sorry if this is too blunt, but who the hell is talking to you that way and why are they in your life??? You've always looked healthy in any picture you posted. These people are just trying to grind you down and stop liking yourself. And Aspychata is exactly right about this: " If you get low in weight, those same people will come back and say, you need to eat some food."

Who said this to you?
More than one person?

Unfortunately, a lot of people are simply stupid, and feel the need to make stupid comments to people they run into at random but don't know. Women especially have this problem. A "fat" woman will get oinked and mooed at, a "curvy" woman will get all sorts of strange comments, a thin woman will be told to eat a steak.

It seems to be a lot worse in the Northeast Corridor where you are, don't know about Boston but NYC is infamous for public misogyny. Out in California such talk is considered offensive.

My parents, and my cousin. They aren't as awful as the other ones.

Thinking about this. Everybody is a medical professional and tells me my weight issues, then l have social engineers telling me who l should date and who l shouldn't date. Then l have a list of busybodies who can fill in all my other things l am doing wrong. Everyone is now a expert, and they now know everything pertaining to me. Nope, l don't think so. Back off, get a life, and quit minding my business.

I hate how beauty standards are so toxic and unrealistic. Influencers that post photos online are always photoshopped and edited in some way. I’m sorry someone commented that to you. That’s very rude and disrespectful. We all have different body shapes and that’s completely normal.

Real women have curves. I was teased mercilessly as a teen by guys when I would reveal liking a girl that was not thin bordering on anorexia, their preference. Screw that!
