Oh, that sounds very dramatic. A wildfire is no joke.

That's scary. My idiot HOA had a tree cut down, then they piled it high like a bonfire on the side of my house and car, l was sweating bricks. If it caught on fire, it would have caused massive damage. I sprayed it with water, then l dragged it down to the curb, away from my house.

That's a scenario we have to face here nearly every summer. Even the 4th of July is precarious, having to remain at home to make sure I can evacuate with some belongings due to some idiot with firecrackers in a tinderbox dry desert neighborhood.

Fireworks are illegal here...except in Montague, which for some reason has a single stand on the site of the train station. Cal Fire puts up signs telling people not to take fireworks out of the city limits, but I don't think even the govt is stupid enough to think it does any good. Dunno who runs that stand, but they have connections.

From what I understand, Nevada has very few laws regarding fireworks, I read of some stupid Youtuber who went to Vegas and bought some ginormous fireworks, smuggled them to CA, then filmed them being fired from a helicopter at a moving Lamborghini.

Not true in Washoe County. (Can't say for Clark County and Las Vegas) In fact they raised the fines for illegal fireworks to $5000 and 12 months in jail. But like everywhere across the country its always a logistically difficult thing to enforce on July 4.

That Youtuber may have gotten his fireworks in Pahrump-Clark and Washoe counties have historically been stricter than the high desert. You can get much in Nye and Lincoln counties that is de jure banned in Vegas, including legal paid sex. Lyon and Storey counties in the northwest state are similar.
