Sorry UberScout. HUD takes a very long time. We have a waiting list to live in our county's affordable housing. Have you checked with your county? Go to the library, use their computers.

Do you have any way of staying warm at all with the decreasing temperatures?

Our Honda Civic is indeed currently the only source of heat we have at the moment. Aside from that, we have already eaten lunch and dinner tonight so don't worry about us trying to eat our own faces or something. Money was hard to bum up today though. Only came back with $35 ish dollars. In any case, I do appreciate the concern.

And if push comes to shove, I still got some old Boy Scout lessons up in my noggin on account of if we ever end up parking next to an nonprivate stretch of forest or what have you. I know a few ways to start a primitive fire, including constructing feathersticks, proper kindling etc.

Wishing you and your family well, UberScout. I hope you can find a home soon. Huxley is sending some gentle dragon fire to keep you warm.

I would have suggested gathering pop cans and bottles to return for deposit money, but it looks like your state doesn't do that. Most pop cans/beer bottles are worth 10 cents each, here in Michigan.
