I'm so sorry. I had hoped that he would recover. Losing a cat is hard. I lost my 15 year old cat to cancer several years ago. I had had him over half my life at the time. Do you have any other pets ?

I'm sure that he had an amazing (and definitely long) life with you, and you both did whatever you could to make one another happy. Life will go on, but gentle memories of him will always stay in your heart to warm you when you need it.

I'm sorry you have experienced the same thing @FayetheAspie :-( I had my cat for close to half of my life too. It was definitely the better half from when I found him. I don't have any other pets.

When we left the vet's there was a lovely bright star in the sky. It was like he was shining down and as beautiful as ever. I tried to find it when we got home to take a picture but I couldn't. But I found it again the next evening and took a picture and now it's in my profile banner. I will always remember him every time I see it in the sky ♥️

I feel horrible saying this but we never really get over our love for them. l bought a little figurine that let's his spirit live on. And you have a special star to keep his spirit alive. What was his name?

Don't feel horrible @Aspychata I've been quite convinced that I will always love and miss him and that will never disappear. His name was Dakota, but his full name is Dakota Cat Tom Kitten "Hubble" :-) He always seemed like the sort of cat that couldn't be summed up in one name :-)
