PACE is a supported employment program created to address the current gap in services for adults on the spectrum who may not meet criteria for government assistance but still find barriers to suitable employment. Autism Action Partnership is aware that many with the Asperger's or autism diagnosis are underemployed or unemployed and created PACE to reverse this trend by matching employees with positions that suit their needs and interests for long-term employment.
PACE recognizes that everyone is unique and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to supported employment for people on the spectrum. Therefore they aim to gain as much information about the potential employee's wants and needs as possible and offer a variety of supports for people with different education levels, employment histories, skills, and goals.
