HELP! I can’t find something I need by tomorrow morning

I'm with you, thinking about your end-caps. Wishing that a rested brain will help you. In these situations I've usually left tiny important things underneath a large pile of something unimportant... got distracted mid task type of thing.

    PIP renewal support UK

I've not done the PIP route Rachie, but I have heard much about it and just wanted to say fair play to you for getting through the forms.

    Our Haven of Hope

I hope I can cope better this week with any unforseen changes, I've done as much as I can to prepare. I dont have a raised anxiety baseline, doggo has settled back into her regular way of being... I reckon I can be hopeful that the next few days will be unremarkable.

    Community

Its a catch 22, which option causes the least harm and to who. I spent over a decade without friends, I wanted the companionship, but I dont have the interpersonal reserves to deal with translating what is really happening when I'm low on social energy, or in those times when I'm recovering...

    Community

I don't know if altruism exists. For me, it's always social energy. I have enough reserves for a small circle of low-maintenance loved ones and for work. It's not that I don't want to be more involved with communities, but there are days when I have to use that social energy for work and not...

Limits are sooner for me than for other people I know, and I can't push through them

I guess there are a few things in your post I relate to: the themes of self and acceptance, how I see myself, how I really am, and how I would like to be in an ideal world. What is my internal dialogue in relation to these thoughts, whose ideas are living rent-free in my head and are these ideas...

    Are We Disproportionately Whistleblowers?

It can be complicated by the people and the circumstances, though I prefer friendships where I dont need to alter my way of being.

    I liked your idea :)

    Are We Disproportionately Whistleblowers?

@Mr. Stevens I was thinking the same thing! I can relate to this sense of injustice, in short I feel that abusive childhoods interfere with the naturally developing moral sense and how cognitive dissonance can be resolved.

    Are We Disproportionately Whistleblowers?

I seem to do this unintentionally through social consensus slip-ups and when I'm fired up about something, it is intentional. Both I feel are are social rule related. -I forget not to say something that a more socially minded person would never say. -I care more about doing the ethical thing...

Advice for Caring for Old Animals

Seems like the right thread to share this, need to let it out! So I'm back from the vet with my doggie, her bloodwork results are all in the optimal range, her urea is slightly elevated, but thats it. Liver, kidneys, hematology, all as they should be. This bout of GI issues seems to simply be a...

Seeing a Therapist For The First Time

It takes courage to reach out for help, well done on jumping the mental hurdles to get to this point! Ive always known I needed the support of a talk therapist, so my perspective is probably best viewed through that lense. What did I expect? Honestly I expected to be "better" in 6 sessions...

Advice for Caring for Old Animals

My Shihtzu is 20, and my bank account is always empty:D I rescued her, aged three, from a life of being bred, and she rescued me, the only living being to reach me when I circled a black abyss. I imagine both of us, in our way, were equally grateful to each other. She developed obvious signs of...

    Neurodivergent marriage

Hi @rd58, its good to have your perspective in this thread... there is a lot to read, if I can I will reply later.

    Neurodivergent marriage

It sounds like you are quite distressed, that this has been building for a long time and that you are now stretched too thinly. What to do is beyond the remit of an online forum IMO, though there have been thoughtful replies, and helpful suggestions, that are perhaps better absorbed at a less...

I need a drink or a few right now.

The pain you feel now, seems almost like anguish, a deep compound pain, in response to people speaking without full understanding. Here in this place amongst those who "get it" you are listened to, believed, validated and are in gentle company.

    Our Haven of Hope

I hope that I can cope with the chaos in work this week, I'm as prepared as I can be for the unpredictability.
