    I prayed last night

I know that probably doesn't sound anything special, I imagine a lot of y'all pray before going to bed, but I gotta quickly give y'all my religious upbringing, background, and beliefs: Uhh, there is none. I'm not joking either. Sure, I was baptized Catholic and I'm not going to say that I've...

    'Autism isn't an excuse'

Anyone else hate that phrase? I do get that it can be annoying when someone blames every single one of their personal problems on their autism but for most of us, we're not using our autism as an excuse, we're using it as an explanation for why we have difficulties with certain things.

    Feelings of hunger

Anyone else not actually feel hungry until their stomach is audibly growling? Cause that's the way it's always been with me. Apparently a lot of people can figure they're hungry before the physical parts of hunger come into play. Weird, it's probably why I eat at such weird times a lot of days.

I sometimes feel more autistic since self-DXing

It feels weird, it's not like I'm going 'Well I've decided I'm autistic, so now I am going to act like all the stereotypes of autistic people' or anything like that, but is it just a consequence of me accepting this part of me and no longer trying to mask or suppress these behaviors and how I...

    Maple syrup

I love maple syrup, it's so good. I bought some today because the bottle I've been using is almost empty and this way I'll have a nice new bottle of it ready to go when I finish up my current bottle. I can't eat that cheaper pancake/table syrup they make, it's way too thick and overly...

Silly things you believed/thought you could do as a kid

I'd look at my arm and then poke my finger at the top of my eyelid to give myself double vision and thought the double image of my arm I was seeing was my physical body and my soul. I also didn't realize that the Wayback Machine were just archived snapshots of a website and I'd try to register...

Does anyone else ever worry about being made fun of for your special interests?

OK first off, sorry if there's a better place for this thread but I figure this board is the best fit for it since it is about special interests. Anyways a couple of my special interests are 80s tech and 80s fashion and I'm pretty open about having these interests. I'll post and share stuff...

    Anyone else not like escalators?

I very much do not like them at all. Always afraid that I'll either trip and fall at the top and get hurt or that I'll lose my balance as I step onto them going down and trip and fall down the escalator. The latter actually did partially happen to me when I went to the mall back in December...
  9. Princess Viola

    Hello, I'm new here.

Hello, my name's Viola (pronounced Vee-o-la, not Vy-o-la, by the way) and I'm a 26 year old transfeminine enby (I use both she/her and they/them pronouns) who's also a self-diagnosed autistic. I'd basically been struggling with something my entire life but I didn't know what (and, I'll be...
