    Attraction to Obsession

I've definitely made some questionable decisions in the past and I'm not going to deny that. I think maturity has helped to restrain my actions as I've gotten older and I'm able to prevent myself from crossing the line into "stalker" territory. There is certainly a massive grey area here...

    Attraction to Obsession

This is exactly how I've felt about everyone I've ever been infatuated with. The last guy I dated was, in my eyes, absolutely perfect. The first time I saw him it was just as you described with the cartoon love hearts and pounding chest. It was as if he had come from Mount Olympus itself. He was...

    Attraction to Obsession

That's what I want to do, but it's so hard to control myself. It's an addiction and the only way I can get temporary relief is by going on social media and looking at a photo. Then as soon as that brief release of dopamine fades away, I fall into a well of self pity and depression. This must...

    Attraction to Obsession

This has probably been posted so many times before by others, but a quick, lazy scan of the bored bore no fruit, so I figured I'd post it. The problem is going from attraction to obsession, faster than the speed of light. I used to think it was love at first sight, but it's more likely just a...

    Singing Happy birthday

I get why people do it. It's the whole communal connected experience thing. It's a tribal ritual that acknowledges both the person having the birthday and the people singing to them are connected by the same social convention. The same as why people wish each other a Merry Christmas, etc. But I...

    Magical power and Aspies

Teleportation without a shadow of a doubt. It would be challenging to fight the temptation to misuse it (i.e. steal from vaults, spy on people, etc) but it would give me so much freedom. For example i would keep my job here, where it's cool and I have an established routine and support network...

    TapaTalk Support Will Be Dropped

Just spent the last hour uninstalling and reinstalling Tapatalk because it wouldn't work. Are there any apps that will work with this forum or is it browser only now?

    Autism and Buddhism

I know it exists. I said that what you said was a myth that "the majority of Muslims want Sharia law". Certainly the Muslims I know don't want it and all of the polls and research here say that it's not true. It may be very different in your country though.

    Autism and Buddhism

I didn't say that. I said I didn't know what American Muslims were like but saying British ones are not like you described so they could be very different and don't assume all of them are the same as the ones you know or have heard about. Never said you were an idiot at all.

    Autism and Buddhism

I don't know much about the USA but from what I do know your church and state and more entwined than ours in the UK and Europe. Don't you have "In God we trust" on your money? That's about as opposite to separate as you can get. It may just be the "version" of history we are taught here in...

    Autism and Buddhism

Although really it has nothing to do with their Buddhism at all. It's the same as when people say the Islamic faith is to blame for the actions of ISIS or the Taliban. It has nothing to do with the religion, the groups just use religion to give themselves a common identity, in the same way a...

    Autism and Buddhism

Hi Clintos, Really wanted to weigh in on this as I was in a similar position to you, except I was born and raised athiest. The first thing I need to say is "yes" it is very compatible, the second thing I need to say is... Don't feel you have to choose/switch. I started exploring Buddhism...

    Bah Humbug!

I suppose there are so many factors to the season/holiday that it can be easier (or more difficult) depending on your level of involvement. I have no partner - therefore I get a bit down/depressed that there is a strong emphasis (especially at my age) on Christmas being a romantic time of the...

    Bah Humbug!

Childhood was a long time ago for me (I'm 36) :) I've taken next week off work so hopefully I can sort my #### out and start feeling a bit more festive.

    Bah Humbug!

I'm just not feeling "Christmas" this year. I don't know if it's just because I'm getting older, because I have SSRI withdrawal (I've come off my anti-depressants), because of my Aspergers or a mixture of all three but I really wish it would just pass me by. I want to be excited, but the whole...
