Asperger's and difficulty with authority figures

This is exactly how I think. I'm glad I'm not the only one. You've hit the nail on the head with me there. Thank you for your contribution.

Did you have a 1-2-1 classroom assistant when you were at school?

Don't even get me started on that bollox, I remember one time at school when I was taken out of an activity the class was doing, I knew the exact reason as to why, but to test my teacher I asked her why, she replied "Because you're the specialist person in the school" So patronising.

Was told I'll need to improve my "communication skills" if I want to be hired directly :/

Argos, you don't want to be working for a retailer anyway. You're paid tuppece to follow illogical orders and policies & when you question anything, your so-called "manager" calls you in for a chat because "they have concerns". Is that really what you want to do with your life? Start on your...

Was told I'll need to improve my "communication skills" if I want to be hired directly :/

The key is not to be afraid of offending people when you speak, and leave your diagnosis in the past.I've learned this very recently (I'm 30) and my confidence has rocketed since. Also, as someone who has experience, you don't want to be hired directly - all that micromanaging, all that...

Did you have a 1-2-1 classroom assistant when you were at school?

I would have loved to have been a "closeted" aspie, unfortunately my mother made sure that didn't happen! I'm now 30 and I've just learned how to make my own decisions without royally screwing up. I never had to make any decisions before - my "staff" did all that for me growing up. Anyhow...

    Aspies, do you work?

I do work, I love working but I can see where your boyfriends coming from when you say he feels he is incapable. I felt the same way at one point so he's definitely not alone. I work best when I'm not "micromanaged", if there is any manager out there who values having an easy life - don't...

Did you have a 1-2-1 classroom assistant when you were at school?

First thread on here, looks like an awesome place to air your thoughts to here goes; did any of you have a "helper" when you were at school? I'm interested to hear how it made you feel and how it shaped you as an adult? I had an assistant up until I was 16-years-old. In one way it was great...

Asperger's and difficulty with authority figures

To be fair, we are surrounded by people who are mostly idiots, especially those who are suspect to having an uncle and a father being the same person if you get my drift? It also does not help being in the UK where we're an isolated island who have bred idiots God knows when. It's only...
